TDEE stands for Total Daily Energy Expenditure, which is also the amount of calories required daily to maintain one’s weight.
Setting Weight Goals
For every 3,500 calories consumed in addition to the TDEE, 1 pound or 0.45 kg of body weight would be gained. Contrarily, for every 3,500 calories of deficit, the same weight would be lost.
If your goal is to gain one pound each week, then you should try to consume 500 calories above your TDEE, or 500 calories less if your goal is to lose one pound a week.
